Autism and ADHD Assessment

Understanding yourself starts with the right support.

If you’re wondering whether you might be autistic, have ADHD, or both, you’re not alone. Many adults reach this point after years of feeling different, overwhelmed, or burnt out from masking. At Clarity Psychological Services, we offer professional, neurodiversity-affirming Autism and ADHD assessments for adults (18+), designed to help you understand how your brain works and what support will help you thrive.

Why Book an Autism and ADHD Assessment?

A formal assessment offers more than just a diagnosis; it gives you language, clarity, and direction. Whether you’ve suspected autism or ADHD for years, or only recently started connecting the dots, an assessment can help you:

  • Understand how your brain processes information, emotions, and social interactions;
  • Gain access to relevant supports, accommodations, and resources;
  • Explore strategies to manage overwhelm, executive functioning challenges, or emotional dysregulation; and,
  • Feel validated after years of feeling out of step or misunderstood.

At Clarity, we assess for both autism and ADHD together because these neurotypes often co-occur (often called AuDHD), and can present differently in adulthood, particularly in women, marginalised groups, and highly masked/internalised presentations.

What to Expect From the Assessment

All adult Autism and ADHD assessments at Clarity are conducted by Dr Gabrielle Klepfisz, a registered clinical psychologist with extensive experience and a deep commitment to neuro-affirming care. Gabrielle is also a parent of a neurodivergent child, and understands firsthand how important a safe, respectful process can be.

Our assessment process is available in person at our St Kilda clinic, or online via Telehealth, so you can choose what’s most comfortable for you.

Step 1: Initial Consultation (50 minutes)

A collaborative conversation to understand your reason for seeking an assessment, background, and whether a full assessment and comprehensive report is right for you.

Step 2: Pre-Assessment Questionnaires

A battery of self-report measures will be sent to you to complete at your own pace. These help us build a clear picture of your strengths, traits, and history. You can also choose to include input from people who know you well now (e.g., a friend or partner) and/or people who knew you well as a child (e.g., a parent or sibling). However, please rest assured, if you do not provide additional collateral information, this will not hinder your assessment process.

Step 3: Diagnostic Assessment Session (2–3 hours)

We use clinically validated tools (such as the MIGDAS-2 and DIVA-5) to assess your social, emotional, and executive functioning traits. Gabrielle will guide you through this session at your pace.

Step 4: Report & Feedback

You can choose between two types of reports:

  • Summary Letter – Ideal for those seeking clarity without a full written report or follow-up session (this is also a more affordable option for those who may not be in a position to opt for the comprehensive report)
  • Comprehensive Report – Includes formal diagnosis (if applicable), questionnaire results, recommendations, and a scheduled feedback session with Gabrielle to walk through your results in detail and ask any questions you may have.

Why Choose Clarity Psychological Services?

Neurodiversity-affirming approach – We don’t pathologise you. We help you understand your experience and neurotype and recognise that there is a spectrum of differences or ways the brain can be different. Autism and ADHD are not disorders that need to be fixed! Rather, we view Autism and ADHD as different neurotypes with their own strengths and challenges, which at times, might require specific accommodations to support you better.

Evidence-based assessments – All assessments are conducted by Dr Gabrielle Klepfisz, not outsourced or delegated. These assessments are grounded in evidence-based practice, including how Autism and ADHD traits may present in highly masked or internalised presentations.

Flexible access – Choose in-person or Telehealth options depending on what works best for you and your neurotype.

Respected and local – Based in St Kilda, we serve clients across Melbourne and Australia-wide via Telehealth.

Is This Assessment Right for Me?

You don’t need to be sure. You don’t need to meet someone else’s idea of what autism or ADHD “should” look like. If you’ve spent your life masking, feeling overwhelmed, or sensing you don’t quite fit, then it’s worth exploring.

This process is here to give you understandinglanguage, support, and clarity.
